Cliff Nordberg was hired at Disney Animation Studio in 1938 as an inbetweener. He would eventually be mentored by Wolfgang Reitherman, and “Woolie’s” style would become evident in Cliff’s own animation.
Nordberg became a full-fledged animator in the mid-1940s, working on Goofy shorts, some minor characters in Song of the South, and the All the Cats Join In segment of Make Mine Music.
In the 1950s he earned a reputation at the studio for animating extraordinary character movements in ordinary scenes, like sequences with the Duke, and mice in Cinderella, the Mad Hatter and March Hare in Alice in Wonderland, and the Indians in Peter Pan.
In 1978, Cliff became a directing animator on the Small One and The Fox and the Hound.
