The go to place for all things hand-drawn animation. This site includes behind the scenes information on movies, cartoon TV shows, and professional animators. We also have an extensive guide for upcoming animation festivals and expos from around the world. We conduct interviews with animation professionals who are currently working in the field or are retired with years of experience. TONS of model sheets. TONS of pencil tests. Our team members review past and present animated movies as well as TV shows. We also showcase student pencil tests and shorts. We hope to help pave the way towards the future of Traditional Animation. Please enjoy our site!

We are also open to our user-base joining in by sending us stories, model sheets, pencil tests, news, and any other goodies.

Lavalle Lee

Lavalle has been making animated online cartoons since 2001 for his website flashcartoons.org. In 2009 Lavalle started learning from Don Bluth in his animation classes, as well as attending his Masterclasses in Arizona. In 2011 he started this website after seeing most animation sites were about all types of animation, not any specific to classical hand drawn animation. Lavalle also is the host of the online series, “The Traditional Animation Show”. Lavalle is currently the Vice President for Don Bluth Studios. Lavalle is also the administrator of Don Bluth University and lead the Dragon’s Lair: The Movie Indiegogo crowd-funding campaign. James Nethery

James knew that he wanted to do animation from a very early age thanks to his father being an animator at the Walt Disney Studio. When he was in his teens, he took a serious interest in the art of animation and then, finally, in the year 2011 James graduated from Animation Mentor: The Online Animation School with a diploma in Advanced Character Animation Studies. James is currently working for Floyd County Productions on Archer.

Les Carpenter

Les Carpenter was a Disney artist for 7 years at the Animation Academy. Teaching guests how to draw the beloved animated characters at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Theme Park at the Walt Disney Resort. Les has learned from Don Bluth on his online classes and attended his master class in the summer of 2010 in Phoneix, Arizona furthering his animation knowledge.
